About the Chamber
The Lake Champlain Islands Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit member organization serving and supporting businesses in Grand Isle County, Vermont. Located in the historic Tudhope House in North Hero Village, the Lake Champlain Islands Chamber is open throughout the year, providing visitors with assistance finding lodging, attractions, activities, services, entertainment, and events. The Chamber also serves as the Small Business Development Center and the Regional Development Corporation for Grand Isle County, Vermont. The Chamber has over 200 members - a diverse group of businesses ranging from individual entrepreneurs to large companies. The Chamber takes a leadership role in community development in the Islands; grants from the state helped bring wireless broadband to the Islands. Now both Comcast and FairPoint are building out over 150 miles of cable and copper to provide high speed Internet throughout the Islands. In 2009 the Chamber also brought in Front Porch Forum, an online neighborhood newsletter.
