State Backed and Non-Profit Lenders
Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA)
Since its creation by the Vermont General Assembly in 1974, VEDA has provided $2.5 billion in financing assistance to thousands of eligible Vermont commercial and agricultural businesses, helping them grow and create jobs. For more than four decades, VEDA’s financing innovations and investments have helped to stimulate Vermont’s economy.
Vermont Community Loan Fund
The Vermont Community Loan Fund is a mission-driven, community-focused alternative lender. We provide loans and other resources to local businesses, community organizations & nonprofits, early care & learning providers and developers of affordable housing who don’t qualify for a loan from a traditional lender. We develop and promote innovative capital-based solutions to issues of poverty and opportunity. We're invested in a stronger, healthier, happier Vermont.
Community Capital of Vermont
Community Capital provides flexible business financing to people interested in starting or growing small businesses in Vermont. We work with diverse partners to strengthen downtowns and our rural economy by providing loans and business support to women, people with limited credit or collateral, and low-to-moderate income entrepreneurs.
Capital for Entrepreneurs
FreshTracks Capital

CORI Innovation Fund
CIF invests in early-stage technology businesses located in rural areas in the U.S. In general, we fund companies that are generating revenue and need capital for their plans to scale significantly over time. We typically invest in a company’s seed stage, but will consider later stage transactions. We can act either as a lead investor or as a participant in a funding round.
